Fort Worth high school to debut innovative energy program

The Fort Worth Independent School District and the Independent Petroleum Association of America are joining forces on a forthcoming four-year, high school program that they hope will transform the image of an energy industry job from a “dirty rig” to one in which math and science are an integral part of a technologically advanced career.

This fall, Southwest High School will offer the Southwest Academy for Petroleum Engineering and Technology, a “school within a school” for 50 incoming freshmen who want to learn more about energy and engineering.
